Summer Travel is Picking Up. Great Outer Banks Deals Available.

Summer travel is looking good

Industry experts are predicting that this summer should be hot for the vacation rentals and travel industry.  A few variables are coming together to boost the summer travel season; it’s a blend of real change, demand for a vacation, and psychological shifts.  Another boost to the summer travel is lower gas prices.

AAA announced that it is predicting an increase of 1.5 percent of Americans that will be traveling on vacation during Memorial Day weekend this year compared to 2008.  32.4 million travelers are expected to take a trip of 50 or more miles away from home.  This is a significant increase from the 31.9 million Americans that traveled last year during Memorial Day weekend.  “Last year, soaring gas prices and deteriorating economy resulted in far fewer trips being taken than had been forecasted,” said Robert L. Darbelnet, AAA President and CEO. “The good news is, sharply lower gasoline prices and plentiful travel bargains have Americans feeling better about taking a road trip this summer, which should help tourism based economic activity throughout the nation.”

If you are planning a summer vacation, this will be the year to get a great deal on your vacation property.  This is especially true for folks looking to visit the Outer Banks.  Great Deals Available, call 800-395-2525 or visit www.OuterBanksVacations.com.
