Outer Banks Wine Tasting at Native Vine

Though I tend to drink whites in the summer, we continue to sell far more reds than whites, even in summer.  Particularly in the heat of July and August, try chilling down your reds in the fridge for 15 minutes or so before you serve them…..a slight chill is appropriate (about 62 degrees).  The wine will warm up quickly….about 4 degrees as soon as you pour it.  Over 70 degrees the alcohol component of the taste of the wine becomes more pronounced than the fruit.

In as much, let’s do a cab tasting in the middle of summer! 

This week we will be doing our reserve tastings on Thursday and Friday at 6:30pm.  The theme is ”Cabs around the world”……we’ll be comparing cabs from S. America, Europe, Australia and the US.  The tasting is just $20.  Please call for reservations to 252-491-5311.

For the value conscious (and who isn’t these days), our line of Coastal Vine wines from California are selling really well.  We have Cab, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio all at $5.99…and all true to the varietal (means they taste like they are supposed to taste).
