Early this week, Forbes included the Outer Banks in its list of America’s Island Paradises, and for the second time in a week, Forbes is giving a nod to the OBX as a great vacation spot. But this time, they are coming at it from an entirely different angle…the air.
A recent Forbes article chronicles a trip to the OBX by air in a small private jet that lands at the First Flight Airport, an aviator’s holy land of sorts…the home of the Wright Brother’s first flight.
The article highlights the great beaches, restaurants, and history available on the Outer Banks.
Here’s an excerpt from the article:
If you have never been to Kitty Hawk, add First Flight Airport to your list. Touching down here and visiting the Wright brothers memorial site is a pilgrimage for all aviators. Check out the Outer Banks Visitor Bureau for details on where to stay and what to do. So toss in your beach towel, some suntan lotion and maybe even that folding bike and head on to First Flight Airport for an afternoon of sun and fun!
