First Tropical Storm of 2013 Headed For Outer Banks

The first tropical storm of the predicted very active 2013 hurricane season is headed for the Outer Banks.

Tropical storm Andrea is charging up the coast and expected to reach the Outer Banks by Friday.  The National Weather Service in Morehead City said to expect at least 1 to 3 inches of rain with wind gusts up to 45 mph along the coast.

Wave heights anywhere from 7 to 14 feet are expected on Friday with some risk of coastal flooding.  A tropical storm warning is in effect for the Outer Banks.
