10th Annual Outer Banks Bike Week™ April 21-29, 2012
Wow, 10 years?! Already?! Even more of a reason to celebrate one of the best OBX events of the year – Outer Banks Bike Week!
The OBX Bike Week has gotten bigger and better every year, and this year promises more of the same. The full schedule of events has not been announced yet, but the dates are set, and some hints have been dropped about the fun to come.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we get more information, and you can find additional information at the Outer Banks Harley-Davidson website.
Here’s some of the fun you can expect from the 9 day bike extravaganza:
The Outer Banks Bike Week™ is back for 2011, and it’s bigger and badder than ever.
Want to cruise the same stretch of beach that some of the most famous pirates in history patrolled nearly 300 years ago? Here’s your chance! Outer Banks Bike Week™ has released its always expanding schedule of events for this year’s rally.
Some of the Outer Banks Bike Week™ traditions remain and some new twists were added. There will be tons of live music and bands, the annual Miss Outer Banks Bike Week™ Bikini Contest, tattoo contest and not to mention the best beer belly contest.
Don’t miss out on all the great food, fun watering holes, cool ocean breezes and amazing scenic riding. April 16th-25th.

9th Annual Outer Banks Bike Week™ 2 Full Weekends in 2011! Saturday to Sunday, April 16th-24th, 2011
Outer Banks Bike Week - Harley Store
9 years?! Can you believe it’s already been 9 years for the Outer Banks Bike Week? Time flies. And the event just keeps getting bigger and better.
2010 marked the first year Bike Week ran for eight days. Thursday had been the traditional kickoff day in prior years. This gave the bikers more time to get in the longer guided tours, extended rally activities and the area attractions. And for 2011 the OBX Bike Week is being extended to include 2 full weekends (9 days)!
Outer Banks Bike Week
The springtime weather after a long winter makes this biker paradise the perfect getaway. The Outer Banks area runs from southern Currituck County, to its northern beaches of Duck and Corolla, through Dare County and the towns of Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, over to Roanoke Island, Mann’s Harbor and then further south to Hatteras and Ocracoke Island. The venue is spread out enough to ride without any crowd or traffic concerns but intimate enough to make friends for life.
Like any good bike rally, Outer Banks Bike Week™ has more than enough activities and entertainment to keep riders going all week. The rally events are all free due to the local business sponsors who have been extremely enthusiastic and generous in supporting this growing event during the spring.
3rd Annual OBX Bike Fest. What a great Fall Rally in the Outer Banks! Non-stop entertainment, vendors, food, live music and of course great riding the scenic barrier islands.
Way back in December 2009, we provided some details of a whacky (that’s a term of endearment) motorcycle race called the Cannonball Run that was starting on the Outer Banks. Well, today was the day.
The Cannonball Run took off from the OBX this morning.
No, not this Cannonball Run (although it would be great to see Burt’s ‘stache on the OBX!).
It’s not 1981, and there were no Burt Reynold’s mustache sightings this morning. The 2010 version of the Cannonball Run is a cross-country motorcycle race starting on the East Coast (Outer Banks) and culminating 3,300 miles later on the West Coast (Santa Monica, CA), and although the race may be modern, the motorcycles are anything but contemporary.
The race launches a pack of riders on vintage motorcycles on an historic ride across the U.S. Participants are required to ride classic pre-1916 motorcycles such as Pope, Sears, Flying Merkel, Excelsior, Henderson, Indian, Triumph, and the Harley-Davidson’s Silent Grey Fellows.
About 50 vintage motorcycles pre-dating 1916 headed out for the coast-to-coast Cannonball Run from the Wright Brothers National Memorial on Friday September 10, 2010. Kill Devil Hills Mayor Ray Sturza waved the green flag as hundreds of onlookers cheered the riders departing for the run’s first leg.
The run will be in 16 stages totaling more than 3,000 miles. Each leg ranges between about 200 and 300 miles, starting on the OBX and ending in Santa Monica, California on September 26.
A fundraiser for the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. The Pony Run is a fun poker run with a pin that ends up at Outer Banks H-D in Harbinger for live music, on-site horses, food, prizes and more.
