My father lives on Hatteras Island (Avon) and informed me that the road north of Rodanthe is complete gone. North Carolina has declared a state of emergency and is working on getting the Dept of Trans to set the ferry’s to run from Rodanthe to Mans harbor.

Many locals are fearful of what the bridge will bring with it, but I think one thing is for certain. Once the construction starts, the property values on the Currituck Outer Banks will go through the roof.
