Perfect fall day. Sun, 80′s, light southwest wind, water at 72 degrees.

The swell has dropped a bit, but there are a lot of fun waist to chest waves rolling through. Perfect day to soak up the fall sun, enjoy the warm water, and catch some fun surf. And a great day for the ESA finals at Jennette’s Pier.

Fall fishing is going strong. Tight lines all around – spot, croakers, speckled trout, black drum, puppy drum, pompano, stripers.

Outer Banks: 9.15.11 - Too Legit in Kitty Hawk

The gorgeous fall beach weather is too legit to quit (a nod in MC Hammer’s direction). The perfect fall OBX weather continues today.

Sun, 80′s, light offshore breeze, water at 78 degrees, super fun waist to chest surf – nice and clean from the offshore breeze, and the fish are biting.

Doesn’t get much better. Thanks Mama Nature.

Outer Banks: 9.12.11 - OBX Fall at Avalon Pier

OBX fall is here. 80 degrees, empty beach, fun surf, & fish are biting.

Fall on the Outer Banks is about as good as it gets. And we are just getting started.

A little overcast to start today, but the sun should make an appearance soon, and the week looks great with temps hovering around 80, water temps at 75 degrees.

Looks like we’ll be able to enjoy some clean, chest high OBX fall surf over the next few days. Some fun waves out there this morning, and it should get better as the tide fades towards the afternoon. The swell is going to jump to overhead by the end of the week as Tropical Storm Maria rolls through the Atlantic sending some big waves our way.

Fall fishing is in full swing as well – speckled trout, flounder, blue fish, pompano, Spanish mackerel, black drum.

Not much surf to report, but the fish are biting!

Awesome OBX beach day. Hit the sand!

Clean waist high surf…super fun. Perfect offshore wind out of the southwest. Sun, 90′s, and water near 70.

Fish are biting; offshore, near shore, piers, bridges, surf, and Sound – blue fish, sea mullet, Spanish mackerel, croakers, flounder, spot, speckled trout, tuna, cobia, trigger fish.

Outer Banks: 7.28.11 - Perfect Beach Day in Kitty Hawk

The OBX has been blessed with some great weather this summer, and this could be one of the best days yet.

It’s a perfect beach day. Sun, 80′s, light onshore wind adding a cool breeze and fresh salt air. Clear blue-green water 70+ degrees. The only downfall is there’s no surf, but the fish are biting!

It’s doesn’t get much better than this. Enjoy!

The mild temps have given way to some summer heat! Great beach day. 90′s & sun. Nice offshore wind out of the southwest. Pretty waist high surf; real clean with the offshore wind. Tight lines all around; fish are biting – dolphin, tuna, wahoo, cobia, blue fish, croaker, flounder, spot, speckled trout.

Outer Banks - 7.7.11 - Summer in Kitty Hawk

Great summer day in Kitty Hawk. We enjoyed some great thunderstorms last night. Lightning, thunder boomers and some much needed rain. Great cleansed feeling at the beach this morning and a beautiful summer day ahead; 80′s, sun, light southwest wind. The beach is quiet but getting busy – surfing, fishing, hunting shells, walking dogs, and setting up shop for the day. The offshore wind is cleaning up some fun waist high surf. Fish are biting
