Outer Banks’ Tortugas’ Lie Voted North Carolina’s Best Seafood

Coastal Living Magazine recently released their annual guide, outlining the best eats across the country. Since the Outer Banks is known for their delicious fresh seafood, it was no surprise to learn that Tortugas’ Lie of Nags Head was voted best seafood in North Carolina.

From grilled yellowfin tuna, to spicy creole crawdads, Tortugas’ Lie has a large menu and offers daily specials including a Wednesday night Sushi menu. Aside from the food the restaurant offers a great island atmposhere including an outdoor volleyball net out back, a great staff, and awesome drinks.

It is definitely a must stop on your next Outer Banks Vacation, great seafood and perfect for the whole family. Make sure you check their website when you get here for their daily specials and menu! You can even order takeout online!

Outer Banks Beach, Surf, & Fishing Report – 11.10.10

Good afternoon.  Here is the Outer Banks Beach, Surf, & Fishing Report for November 10, 2010.

This video was shot in Nags Head at 11 AM today; just north of Nags Head pier, and just south of Tortuga’s Lie.

It is an overcast day with heavy winds out of the north, northwest.  Temps in the upper 50′s.  It should stay like this for the next couple days; overcast, windy and temps in the lower 60′s.

Unfortunately, that north wind is not helping the surf or the fishing.  The fishing has slowed down considerablly, but it should pick up again as the winds backoff towards the end of the week.

As for surfing, there is a whole bunch of swell coming in, but this heavy north wind is not cooperating to clean up the waves.  The swell will continue to build into the weekend with most reports calling for overhead surf by the end of the week.  Hopefully the wind decides to cooperate in the next few days.  We’re still waiting on the Battle of the Banks.  We’ll keep you posted.

Happy Marine Corps Birthday, and happy Veteran’s Day if we don’t catch up tomorrow.
